CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS At the conclusion of the Reno reunion several of your shipmates met to plan a 2001 reunion. A committee was formed and this meeting is the result. Lots of hard work in the meantime has compiled an expanded roster of over 800 names. This roster is available by contacting Steve Andruszkewicz . As with any organization the quicker we can get information about attendance, the better we can plan. We would appreciate timely notification of your intent to attend. There are many other activities, including several reunions, scheduled at this time in Pensacola. Our hotel is not large (nor are any in Pensacola) therefore reservations must be on a first come first served basis. If necessary we will attempt to make arrangements for overflow accommodations at a Pensacola Beach hotel. Volunteers are needed to man the reception desk. We hope to get enough so that nobody has to be on duty more than an hour or two. If you are willing to meet and greet your shipmates please indicate so on the registration form on the reverse of this letter or let us know by email vp4reunion@aol.com. Your VP4 Association officers are not an elected group. We formed (elected) ourselves at the end of the Reno reunion mostly for the purpose of having another reunion. Many of us are not interested in serving beyond the reunion. If the organization is to continue as anything but a group of good old boys who get together for fun and games at odd intervals we will need to elect officers at the reunion. We need to think about the type of organization we want and who (if anyone) will run it after next May. If anyone has comments or wants to volunteer for anything put your message on vp4reunion@aol.com.
