The Passing of VP-4 Vet AMS1 Charles G. Stallings VP-4 1964 – 1967

Charles Stallings is in the 1964-65 cruise book as an AMS1 in the Airframes Shop. He is listed on the roster in the 1967 book, but his rate is not shown. Please let me know if anyone had contact with Charles after he left the squadron and knows his rating when he retired.

Charles G. Stallings VP-4 1964 – 1967

Charles Glenn Stallings, 87, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on the morning of January 12, 2023. Charles was born in Johnston County, North Carolina, to the late Oscar and Flora Starling Stallings. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelby Jean Taylor Stallings, of 63 years. Charles served 20 years in the US Navy and 34 years in civil service before retiring at 76. Charles was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher of “The Senior Ambassadors” class at Chesapeake Baptist Church. He loved every moment he spent among his precious friends there.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters Anita Hall (Van), Barbara King, and Lisa Gilgeous; brothers Walter and Robert Stallings; 9 loving grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will occur at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News.
